Matt Brown

As Chief – Sustainability, Matt oversees all aspects of Expo City Dubai’s sustainability strategy, integrating environmental, social and economic sustainability across the city’s development and operations, and spearheading its Decarbonisation Strategy. In parallel, Matt supports preparations for Expo City Dubai’s hosting of the COP28 climate summit with the UNFCCC, working closely with the Office of the UAE Special Envoy for Climate Change.

Matt was previously part of Expo 2020 Dubai, having joined in 2016. He ultimately served as Senior Vice President – Operations, where he was responsible for running the full site and was directly accountable for much of the front-of-house site operations as well as operational planning for key events and internationally-acclaimed live acts.

His prior experience includes roles with the Rugby World Cup 2015, Baku 2015 European Games, the London 2012 Summer Olympic Games, Deloitte, as well as the British Army.

Matt holds a bachelor’s degree in business studies from the University of Sheffield.
