Francesca Pintus

Head of Urban Design

Experienced urban designer harmoniously solving the complexity of mixed-use developments with the aim of providing an optimal setting for healthy communities to thrive.

Francesca Pintus graduated in Italy in Building Engineering-Architecture in 2008. In 2010 she completed her Master of Architecture in Urban Design at the Bartlett School of Architecture, University College London.

She is a licensed Engineer in Italy, and a member of the UK Architects Registration Board.

Thanks to her broad-spectrum background, Francesca began her professional career in the UK, working on high-end residential architecture and design for people with autism.

She then focused on urban design and masterplanning, working on local and international projects at different scales, feeding her interest into the most diverse cultures, needs and objectives.

In 2022 she was invited to act as a visiting tutor at the School of Architecture of Birmingham City University.

After 13 years in London, in 2023 she moved back to Italy and joined Progetto CMR as a Project Leader and Head of the Urban Design department.

Over her 10+ years of experience, Francesca has developed a passion for harmoniously solving the complexity of mixed-use developments while delivering high quality public realm, with the aim to provide an optimal setting for healthy communities to thrive. The masterplans she has been involved with include residential, healthcare, higher education, commercial, sport and entertainment uses. Francesca approaches each project with a dual lens, smoothly moving from the macro to the micro scale and vice versa. Her intent is to generate flexible yet coherent urban design frameworks that allow the construction of functional and inspiring buildings, making the latter respond and positively contribute to their context.

Being passionate about sustainable design for places and cities, Francesca is a qualified LEED Advanced Professional for Neighborhood Development, and BREAAM Communities Assessor.
